Water-lubricated bearings eliminate the need for lube oil
– and the risk of oil pollution.
With no central shaft and no dynamic seals, there is less risk
of damage due to line and rope entering the thruster.
Permanent magnets provide greater flexibility in selection
of motor speed (number of motor poles) and a motor with
high efficiency running at a lower temperature.
The propeller blade thickness can be reduced to make
the propeller even more efficient, reducing fuel consumption
and operating costs.
