In 2014, Brunvoll delivered its first AW100 ZNC 2600 thruster
units for main propulsion to two large vessels, as well as retractable
trunk-mounted units of the type AR100 LNC 2600 and
FU100 LNC 2450. All these units can be maintained without dry
docking. Additionally, a new larger retractable azimuth thruster
system with Z-drive was introduced.
A further milestone in 2014 was the launching of the Brunvoll
4th generation Control, Alarm and Monitoring system. The 4th
generation BruCon automation system uses a dual redundant
network for enhanced reliability and functionality and easy
installation. The system is versatile with emphasis on easy and
flexible configuration, and reduced installation time for bridge
control panels and control cabinets. The system has new, state of
the art, user-friendly and function-centric control panels with a
screen display, as well as new operating control levers developed
by Brunvoll.
In 2014, we also developed and delivered a new starter system for
drive motors with significantly lower peak loads during starting.
The system enables a more flexible generator mode set-up and
provides robustness with minimal influence on shipboard power
and automation systems.
Also in 2014, Brunvoll delivered a new extended thruster
condition monitoring system (CMS) for several vessels, including
deliveries with data transmission via satellite. The Brunvoll CMS
enables continuous monitoring of a range of operational data and
advanced analysis of non-stationary operating parameters.
Reports are provided to the customer at different levels and
facilitate condition based maintenance.
